This weeks babe is my bestie/fitness partner/inspiration for ever! She is such a role model and inspires so many people in our home town I want this babe to get more credit for what she does! This weeks interview is with cambrie! Read more about her lifestyle below! vvv
Your name: Cambrie Schroder

Health/Fitness IG or Blog: fitwithcambrie and cambrieschroder

What motives you: When I am laying in bed after a log day and decide weather or not to set my alarm at 7 in the morning to wake and go work out there are a few things that run through my head. The first one is typically “why in the world would you do that to yourself when you can sleep in?” Then I start to search for motivation to help me make the decision to set my alarm. I think of how blessed I am to have a healthy able body and how it would be a shame if I didn’t give it the care it deserves. I am also motivated by my results. I feel so good after I workout and feed my body the fuel it needs that it makes the decision easier knowing that I will feel good all day long if I start my day off with a workout and clean meal. Lastly, I am motivated by people. I follow lots of health and fitness blogs and get inspired by food recipes and workout routines that keep me motivated all day long!

What inspired you to start this lifestyle: I’ve always liked healthy food even as a child so it wasn’t too difficult transition into a cleaner diet. However, my transition into a cleaner diet began about two years ago. I started getting really bad acne, and always had painful gas bubbles in my stomach. I went to every dermatologist, tried every acne treatment, and never found the results I was looking for. Finally I knew it had to be an internal problem and no cream was going to change that. So I started noticing what I was eating and what triggered inflammation in my stomach and acne. About two months later I concluded that source of the problem derived from dairy products. Since then, I have been dairy free, acne free, for the most part, and 100% gas free! That was the main event that caused be to be aware of what I eat and the effects it has on my body. Since then I have also eliminated all processed foods and junk food and I feel so good!

How often are you exercising or being active💪👟: I try to exercise every morning in addition to have a very active day. I will normally take a Spin, Pilates, or boxing class in the am grab a smoothie then start my active day. My active day in the summer consists of going boogie boarding for hours in the ocean, bike ridding on the Pier, rollerblading on the board walk, going on hikes with friends, and walking around cute shops. When the school year starts I take my workout classes in the evening after I’ve taught my dance/ Wokrout classes. My day is still very active just in a different way and my schedule changes around a bit.
What type of dietary lifestyle do you prefer? i.e. vegetarian, vegan, raw, etc. or if none or do not label please state so: I don’t really have a label that I put on my diet. I eat cooked foods, raw foods, meats, fruits, veggies, nuts seeds and lot more. As I explained before, I am allergic to dairy products so I never eat milk, cheese, ice cream ect. I try my best to stay away from processed and artificial foods and all breads because I find my self feeling tired and groggy after I eat them. I think that the most important thing re guarding diet is to know yourself well enough to know what works and what doesn’t. Raw vegan, or Paleo works great for some people however not so great for others. There are so many diets out there that it’s hard to know which one is right but the key is figuring out which one is right for you. Listen to your body, experiment and cut the crap…. Literally!
This is what a typical day regarding food looks like for me minus the sweets I eat once in a while (mainly chocolate!)

Breakfast
- Right when I wake up I drink a big bottle of water.
I eat typically around 10 after my workout
Fruit plate of bananas, apples, oranges peaches, mangos, grapes and any other fruit I can find. I eat until I’m full!

Lunch
Lots of water in between meals
For lunch I normally have lots of cooked or uncooked veggies with a small side of organic grass fed salmon, chicken or steak.

Dinner
Typically looks something like lunch minus the meat possibly a big arugal salad with nuts, seeds, fruit, and a light olive oil dressing.

If I’m every hungry inbetween meals I eat as much fruit as I want, granola, veggies sticks.

What does your grocery basket usually/always consist of🌿🍎: My grocery basket consists of lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, coconut water, trail mixes, and some vegan desserts!

Favorite smoothie or juice recipe🍌🍓: My favorite smoothie right now is a chocolate Maca protein shake! This is my recipe: frozen bananas, ice, almond milk, chocolate protein powder, cacao nibs, a scoop of maca powder, and a dash of cinnamon. I have also recently just fallen in love with this mint chocolate chip shake here’s the deal: Your going to take 1.5 cups of almond milk, 1 frozen banana, 15 mint leaves, 1/2 cup of raw cacao nibs and a few ice cubes blended all together… And a few moments later you will also be in love.
What do you do to stay away from junk and unhealthy foods/drinks/habits🚫🍟🍰: If it’s not in front of my I’m not temped by it so I don’t buy junk food. If for some reason it happens to be in front of me for some mysterious reason maybe I’ll take a small bite or sip of it and other times I won’t, I’ll grab a piece of fruit instead.

How do you prevent a binge!: I’ve never had problems with binge eating because I always eat something when I’m hungry. If you starve yourselves you are more likely to eat more than you need the next time you eat. By constantly fluctuating your bodies intake of food your metabolism gets very confused and chooses to hold on food longer and store the food as fat. By feeding your body regularly your metabolism can count on a steady income of food and flushes the food out of your system more quickly. I can’t give too much advice on this topic because I haven’t struggled with this problem but the only suggestion I have is to love and listen to your body enough to never deprive it of nutrients so that your body doesn’t feel the need to over eat.
What/who is your favorite health inspiration/IG or blog? (It’s okay if it is not teatannedandtoned)😏: For real @teatannedandtoned is my favorite IG inspiration because Karena’s body is so motivational and she post the perfect mix of recipes, food, fit bodies and workouts!
Mind sharing an interesting fact or two you have learned about health or your self on your journey to this healthy lifestyle: Through my journey of learning to love and care for my body I have learned to be patient. Results take time and don’t happen overnight. I have also learned to read the pros and cons of all diets and the importance of educating yourself in all areas. The body is a beautiful thing and extremely complicated and the desire to care for it must first come from the inside. Love your body because after all you only have one so treat it right!

I encourage you to keep going and hope you find your own path to a healthy meaningful life and know that I am always here to lift you up.
With lots of love and gratitude,
Cambrie
